Fun times at the grill
Sure, you can throw a burger on a grill, but are you grilling your peaches? Are you blistering your shishitos right on the hot irons? Are you coupling with uniquely seasonal sauces? Here’s some ideas to keep things fresh and interesting this grilling holiday.
GRILLED PEACHES W/ BURRATA AND PROSCIUTTO
This is the life, folks. Really doesn’t get much better than this recipe. Add some tomatoes. Don’t be shy with the olive oil. As a rule, grilling peaches is a great place to start.
GARLICKY GRILLED TOMATOES
A bit of parmesan and a good loaf of sourdough makes this recipe a no-fail, every time, and we have a feeling there will be no leftovers to speak of. The key is the blistering of the tomatoes on the grill - we serve with a creamy fresh herb sauce.
BACON WRAPPED ONION RINGS
Complete with a spicy sweet sriracha sauce, these bacon wrapped onion rings really do go right on the grill and they’re also gluten free - all it really takes is bacon, onion, skewers, and a little finesse.
FROZEN PIZZA
Yes, you really can just put your frozen pizza on the grill. Here’s some instructions, best that the grill is at medium heat so it doesn’t get too crispy. Top with garlic & chili infused honey and some shaved black garlic salami and call it gourmet.
WATERMELON “TUNA” STEAKS
A juicy watermelon steak might actually have you forgetting about real steak it’s so good. We love these “tuna steaks” with soy glaze, and served with some blistered shishitos and a wasabi cream. Can be baked or grilled.
DECONSTRUCTED JALAPENO POPPERS
Better than poppers, these stuffed, grilled jalapeños can be made with any pepper and will have your game-day guests and kids coming in for seconds.
BIG MAC BISON BURGERS
Bison is a very lean, nutritious meat that makes a very delicious burger with any of your favorite fixings - caramelized onions and a sharp cheddar make for a wonderful finish, your classic lettuce onion tomato bacon is great, too. But there’s nothing like using the bison patty to make your own “big mac” copycat burger.
